The Wilson Center and Thalian Hall Center for the Performing Arts are thrilled to co-present this Drive-In Movie filmed right here in Wilmington, NC!

In this film, based on Stephen King’s 1980 novel of the same name, Andrew McGee and Vicky Tomlinson met while earning money as guinea pigs for an experiment at college. The experiment was shrouded in suspicion and mystery, and seemed to be related to psychic abilities. The two were later married and had a daughter, Charlene, or “Charlie,” who can see the near future and also the power of pyrokinesis – the ability to start fires with her mind. Naturally, the government takes a great interest in Charlie, and operatives from the secret department known as “The Shop” want to quarantine and study her, and perhaps deploy her powers to their own nefarious ends.
Directed by Mark Lester.

This movie is rated R for adult situations and violence.

The Drive-In Movies will be held in the top level of the Hanover Student Parking Deck beside the Wilson Center. For this event, the entrance to this deck is at the corner of Hanover and Second Streets. Capacity for each screening is limited. Vehicle placement will be at the discretion of management, and in compliance with local and state health guidelines. Motorcycles are prohibited at this time.

This will be an in-car event, with movie sound being broadcast via short-range FM radio transmission, so you can enjoy the show in your comfy car, with that sweet, sweet stereo you added.

In order to enjoy the full film experience, it is strongly recommended that ticket purchasers arrive in a vehicle equipped with a tunable FM receiver.
